Medical students learning about toilets and current events in infectious diseases

Today I went to Mount Sinai's Icahn School of Medicine to teach first year medical students about infectious disease and the role of toilets in history and current events. This was part of a week series for them on Global Health. It was great to give them an introduction to infectious diseases, and they were fascinated to see the links between the presence of sanitation in a community affected by these diseases. Half of the class was a learning exercise that included a trivia game - it was great to see the students light up and absorb the material in the game so quickly!
